In 2025, Inca Regional Hospital reached a record level of radiological activity, performing 109,000 diagnostic imaging tests, which represents an increase of 6,221 examinations compared to the previous year. This is the highest figure recorded since the hospital opened in 2007.
Most of the examinations were conventional radiology procedures, accounting for 71,486 tests, followed by 12,118 CT scans, 10,088 ultrasound examinations, and 7,214 MRI scans. These figures highlight the extensive use of imaging techniques in daily clinical practice.
Regarding demand, 51,208 tests were carried out for outpatients, 49,353 were requested by the Emergency Department, and 8,439 were linked to inpatient care. This distribution underlines the strategic importance of radiology services in both routine and emergency healthcare.
Since the hospital began operating eighteen years ago, the cumulative number of radiological examinations has reached nearly 1.27 million, rising from 28,377 tests in 2007 to 109,000 in 2025.

Over the years, the Radiology Department has progressively upgraded its technical resources. The unit currently occupies 1,124 square metres, with direct access to Emergency and Inpatient services, and is equipped with advanced imaging technology, including CT, MRI, ultrasound systems and mammography units.
The department is staffed by eight radiologists, twenty-seven radiology technicians and five nurses, all committed to providing high-quality patient care.
In recognition of this commitment, the Radiology Department obtained ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification in 2018. The hospital also plays an active role in training radiology students and offers continuing education programmes for its staff.
