The Balearic Government has approved an update to the amounts paid for seniority and professional development bonuses (sexenios) for teachers working in publicly funded private schools for the year 2026. This decision involves an amendment to Annexe 20 of the regional budget and represents an additional public expenditure of three million euros.

The measure follows the timetable agreed by the Private State-Funded Education Board and fulfils another of the commitments included in the 2023–2027 Framework Agreement. The increase strengthens salary supplements linked to both length of service and ongoing professional training.

Until now, the Ministry of Education and Universities allocated approximately one million euros annually to these payments. With the newly approved increase, total funding will rise significantly, benefiting all teaching professionals who are entitled to these bonuses.

Through this initiative, the Balearic Government continues to improve working conditions for teachers in the publicly funded private education sector and to move towards a more harmonised pay structure, in line with the agreements reached with employers’ organisations and trade unions.
