The Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra (OSIB) will perform its fifth concert of the season on Thursday, 15 January 2026, at 8:00 p.m., at the Auditorium of Palma, featuring an outstanding programme and renowned violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann as soloist.
Conducted by Pietari Inkinen, the concert will focus on three major works from the 20th-century symphonic repertoire, noted for their stylistic diversity and expressive strength. Tickets are available through the OSIB’s official website or at the Auditorium box office.
The evening will open with Ma mère l’Oye by Maurice Ravel, a finely crafted orchestral suite celebrated for its delicacy, vivid colours and imaginative sound world. Before the interval, the orchestra will perform Frank Martin’s Violin Concerto, a deeply expressive work interpreted by Frank Peter Zimmermann, widely regarded as one of today’s leading violin soloists.
