The Palma International Boat Show is set to strengthen its international presence by joining the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO), a global association representing the world’s leading nautical exhibitions. Membership in the federation will increase the show’s worldwide visibility and expand its professional networking opportunities.

The event is organised by the Balearic Ministry of Business, Self-Employed Workers and Energy through the Balearic Islands Regional Development Agency (ADRBalears), in partnership with the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA).

The next edition of the show will take place from 29 April to 2 May 2026, marking its 42nd edition, at the historic Moll Vell harbour in Palma. Over the years, the Palma International Boat Show has established itself as one of Europe’s leading nautical events, traditionally opening the Mediterranean summer boating season. With more than 300 exhibitors, its distinctive land-and-sea exhibition format and strong focus on large yachts and sailing superyachts set it apart within the Mediterranean market.

IFBSO President Niels Klarenbeek welcomed the Palma show as a benchmark for professional organisation, innovation and sustainability, highlighting its successful public–private partnership model and its ability to deliver immersive experiences rather than purely commercial transactions.

The Palma show also brings strong economic credentials to the federation. Its most recent edition generated an estimated €20.1 million economic impact, while also boosting off-season tourism and supporting local hotels, restaurants, transport services and businesses.

According to Balearic Minister Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, IFBSO membership provides access to international best practices, technical training, strategic industry reports and joint promotional initiatives, as well as institutional representation at the global level.

Founded in 1964, IFBSO represents 33 boat shows across 17 countries as of January 2026, attracting over 1.5 million visitors annually and playing a vital role in promoting boating culture, professional training and the sustainable growth of the recreational marine industry.
