Renovation works will focus on Building 2 of the former military complex, originally built in 1915. The two-storey, U-shaped structure forms an inner courtyard together with Building 3 and features main entrances from both Explanada Square and the interior patio. Previous phases of the project have already addressed roof and façade refurbishment.

Once completed, the new education centre will include 16 classrooms, laboratories, a library, administrative offices and shared spaces, covering a total area of 2,132 square metres. The refurbishment will fully modernise the interior of the building, including new staircases, doors and upgraded outdoor areas, while preserving the original shape and volume of the historic structure, which will be used exclusively for educational purposes.

The Santiago Barracks complex will also host the headquarters of the Balearic School of Public Administration (EBAP), which will occupy 461 square metres and include five training classrooms.

This project forms part of the Illes en Transformació initiative promoted by the Balearic Government and highlights its commitment to improving educational infrastructure while repurposing historic public buildings.
