The Consell de Mallorca has announced the cancellation of the official presentation of the “Moda Artesana de Mallorca” brand, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday, 22 January, at Cines Callao in Madrid.

The decision has been taken as a sign of mourning and solidarity following the tragic railway accident that occurred on 19 January in the town of Adamuz (Córdoba), which resulted in multiple casualties and prompted the declaration of official mourning.

Within the framework of the official mourning period, the Mallorca Island Council has decided to suspend all institutional and public celebratory events scheduled for these days, prioritising respect for the victims and their families.

The Department of Culture and Heritage stated that this decision reflects the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and respect in the face of exceptional circumstances.

New date to be announced

The Consell de Mallorca has conveyed its deepest condolences to those affected by the accident and expressed gratitude for the understanding shown by partners, professionals and attendees who were expected to participate in the event.

A new date for the presentation of the “Moda Artesana de Mallorca” brand will be announced shortly, once the mourning period has concluded.
