Mallorca has launched its first dedicated grant programme to support volunteering, with a total budget of €145,000, aimed at non-profit organisations and local councils across the island, which previously lacked a specific funding line for this sector.
The programme is promoted by the Consell de Mallorca, and applications may be submitted from 21 January to 19 February 2026. Grants may cover up to 100 % of total project costs, ensuring the feasibility and effective implementation of volunteering initiatives.

Mallorca launches its first dedicated grant programme to support volunteering with €145,000. Increased funding for volunteering
The new funding represents an increase of more than 61 % compared to the previous year, when volunteering projects were included within a general civic participation call. This budget expansion addresses a long-standing request from social organisations and municipalities.
Two funding lines
The call is divided into two distinct funding streams:
- Non-profit organisations, which will receive a 50 % advance payment to facilitate the immediate launch of projects.
- Local councils and minor local entities, which will be granted a 100 % advance payment once the cooperation agreement is signed, enabling the implementation of municipal volunteering plans and support services.
Island Volunteering Plan and training
The grant programme forms part of Mallorca’s Island Volunteering Plan, which promotes coordination between public authorities and social organisations. In the coming months, specific training programmes will also be launched for organisations and municipal staff, aimed at improving volunteering management and strengthening the sector’s professional capacity.
