The Hospital de Manacor will deactivate its contingency plan for the Gynaecology Service next week, following the implementation of an additional medical reinforcement from 3:00 pm onwards, complementing the on-call gynaecologist.
This step will allow the hospital to return to normal operations and ensure that gynaecological emergency care for women in the Llevant Health Sector continues to be delivered under standard safety and quality conditions.
The suspension of the contingency plan has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the gynaecology and obstetrics departments at Hospital Universitari Son Espases and Hospital Son Llàtzer, whose healthcare professionals will support on-call services at Manacor Hospital.

Manacor Hospital to lift contingency plan in gynaecology emergency services after staffing reinforcement
Hospital management highlighted the importance of inter-hospital cooperation within the public health system, as well as the strong commitment of the entire Gynaecology Service team at Manacor Hospital. Special recognition was given to midwives, whose continued dedication played a key role in maintaining patient care during the contingency period.
Throughout the time the contingency plan was active, scheduled clinical activity continued as normal. Only in exceptional cases, where gynaecological emergencies could be safely delayed, were patients transferred to other hospitals, always in coordination with the SAMU 061 and the relevant specialist teams.
Manacor Hospital and the Servei de Salut de les Illes Balears are continuing to work together, alongside all public hospitals in the Balearic Islands, to recruit additional specialists and further strengthen the gynaecology workforce on a long-term basis.
