The Consell Insular de Menorca has officially opened the call for the 2025 Esport Menorquí Awards, an initiative aimed at recognising commitment, perseverance and the positive values associated with sport across the island.

The awards seek to acknowledge the dedication of Menorcan athletes, highlight outstanding results achieved at national and international levels, and recognise exemplary sporting careers, as well as the contribution of individuals and organisations involved in the sports sector. The initiative reinforces sport as a key driver of personal development and social cohesion.

Nominations may be submitted by sports organisations, federations, local delegations, municipal authorities in Menorca and members of the general public, ensuring broad participation from across the island’s sporting community.

Island Council launches the 2025 Esports Menorquí Awards to honour sporting excellence in Menorca

The awards are divided into two main categories. The first recognises athletes and teams who have achieved notable sporting milestones, including medals at Spanish championships, top-eight finishes at European competitions, or participation in world championships or the Paris Olympic Games.

The second category consists of special distinctions awarded to athletes, teams, coaches, referees and sports entities in recognition of their achievements or contributions during 2024. These distinctions cover individual and team sports, school-age categories and adapted sport, with separate awards for male and female participants.

Applications must be submitted using the official form, either electronically or in person at the administrative offices in Maó and Ciutadella for individual applicants. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 15, 2026.
