The Consell de Mallorca has opened the pre-registration period for its Sports Stays programme aimed at families and senior citizens, offering more than 1,500 places during the first quarter of 2026 as part of a broader initiative that will provide nearly 7,000 places throughout the year.
This initial phase includes six early sessions, expected to accommodate up to 1,200 participants, and forms part of a total of twenty sports stays. These will be offered through family and senior weekend stays, as well as children’s and youth sports camps scheduled for autumn and winter.
The Sports Stays programme consists of weekend experiences with overnight accommodation in family rooms, combined with a structured activity plan that allows adults and children to take part in age-appropriate and tailored sports activities. The programme includes hiking, Nordic walking, functional training sessions, and a variety of sports and wellness workshops. Its main goal is to encourage physical activity, promote healthy lifestyles, and introduce participants to lesser-known sports disciplines while making the most of Mallorca’s natural environment.

The Second Vice President and Minister for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, highlighted that during the first four months of 2026, the programme will take place at five facilities designed for outdoor and sports activities. Among the key new features this year are the addition of two new venues and the regular inclusion of aquatic cycling activities during the summer stays.
The venues included in this first group are Aparthotel Alcúdia Garden and Iberostar Ciudad Blanca, both located in Alcúdia, as well as Azul Punta Reina Cala Mandia in Manacor. Newly added facilities include the Binicanella Youth Hostel in Bunyola and Hotel Bellevue, also in Alcúdia. The stays offer flexible one- or two-night packages with full board and daily sports programming.
Pre-registration will remain open until 31 January at 11:00 p.m., after which a draw will be held among registered families. Only one pre-registration per family is permitted, with the option to select up to four different sessions.
