The 3rd Senior Choir Gathering organised by the Consell de Mallorca has come to an end after four days of musical performances, establishing itself as the edition with the highest level of participation since the initiative was launched. The event brought together 23 senior choirs from different municipalities across the island, with more than 700 participants taking part.

From 26 to 29 January, audiences were able to enjoy a series of open concerts held in various cultural venues throughout Mallorca. Performances took place at the Auditori de Peguera, the Teatre Municipal de Capdepera, the Auditori de Porreres and the church of the Residència Sant Josep de Palma, where each choir presented the repertoire developed throughout the year.

Each performance day concluded with a joint rendition of La Balanguera, a symbolic moment shared by performers and audience alike that served as a unifying element throughout the entire gathering.

At the closing event, the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, highlighted the collective effort, dedication and enthusiasm behind the initiative, emphasising that these gatherings represent much more than a musical event and reflect a strong commitment to active ageing and cultural participation.

Beyond its artistic value, the Senior Choir Gathering has become a key meeting point for choirs from across Mallorca, fostering social interaction, shared experiences and community cohesion through choral music.
