Mallorca, RCD Mallorca and local top-division referees promote a positive message of respect and non-violence

The Consell de Mallorca, RCD Mallorca, and Mallorcan referees competing at the national and international level have launched a joint audiovisual campaign to mark the 2026 School Day of Non-Violence and Peace. The initiative conveys a positive message in favour of respect, coexistence and fair play, with a particular focus on behaviour in the stands and at sporting venues.

The campaign features Balearic players from RCD Mallorca’s first team, their head coach and top-level Mallorcan referees, who act as role models to promote civic conduct and sportsmanship. The messages will be broadcast on the scoreboard at the Estadio Mallorca Son Moix, as well as across digital channels and affiliated platforms, ensuring wide visibility among supporters and the general public.

The Second Vice-President of the Consell de Mallorca and Minister for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, has highlighted the need to raise awareness against all forms of violence, whether verbal or physical, and stressed the importance of bringing these values into schools and extracurricular education. The campaign is expected to reach tens of thousands of children through classrooms and educational activities throughout the year.

Through clear and direct slogans that encourage positive support and respectful attitudes, the initiative seeks to foster responsible behaviour among families, fans and athletes. The Consell also calls on the wider sports community to help spread the message and to report any actions that incite aggression on or off the field of play.

This campaign builds on previous collaborative initiatives developed with the Federació de Futbol de les Illes Balears, strengthening the institutional commitment to sport as a vehicle for education and social values. Integrated into educational programmes and family sports events promoted by the island institution, the project reinforces sport as a tool for social cohesion, learning and peaceful coexistence.
