The Consell de Mallorca has opened the pre-registration period for a new edition of the “Senior Stays” programme, which returns in 2026 with an enhanced range of activities and a revised calendar designed to reach a larger number of participants over the year.

The first call will take place in March, with two scheduled periods from 23 to 25 March and from 25 to 27 March, hosted at the Hotel Blau Colònia Sant Jordi. A total of 1,000 places are available for residents of Mallorca aged 60 and over, divided into two groups of 500 participants. Each selected applicant will be entitled to attend with a companion.

Senior stays return with an expanded activity programme and new scheduling throughout the year

The three-day stays are designed as an active social experience, combining leisure time with a comprehensive programme of physical, cultural and recreational activities tailored to participants’ needs. The offer includes hiking and Nordic walking, yoga, gymnastics, Pilates and wellbeing sessions, alongside traditional and ballroom dancing, world dances and line dancing. The programme is further enriched with board games, musical bingo, card tournaments, health-related talks and evening entertainment with live music.

As a new organisational feature, the programme will no longer be concentrated in a single period of the year. Following the March stays, the Consell de Mallorca plans a second call with an additional 1,000 places in October at Cala Mandia, thereby expanding access to the initiative.

The Minister for the Presidency, Toni Fuster, has highlighted the social value of the programme, emphasising that these stays promote active ageing, social interaction and personal wellbeing, while offering participants a meaningful break from their daily routines.

The programme is financed at 75% by the Consell de Mallorca, with a participant contribution of €84.10 per person, on an all-inclusive basis in a double room. Pre-registrations must be submitted through the institution’s electronic headquarters, and places will be allocated through a public draw among all eligible applications, scheduled for 17 February.
