The Plenary Session of the Consell Insular of Eivissa has definitively approved the general budget for the 2026 financial year, once the single objection submitted during the public consultation period had been resolved. The objection, filed by the Socialist group, was dismissed following a thorough review of the technical reports issued by the Secretariat, the Intervention and the Treasury, which fully endorse the legality and viability of the budget document.

The final budget amounts to €179.8 million, representing an increase of 24.35% compared to the previous financial year. This growth allows for a significant strengthening of public investment policies, the consolidation and expansion of essential services, and an increase in social aid. Priority areas include social care, mobility, road safety and the promotion of new infrastructure projects, as well as a substantial rise in transfers and subsidies from the Balearic Government, exceeding €110 million.

The technical reports conclude that the budget has been processed in accordance with current legislation, that revenue forecasts are duly justified and that there is no financial imbalance or structural insufficiency. They also confirm that the Consell has the legal mechanisms required to adapt budget execution throughout the year, under the supervision of the Intervention body.

With this definitive approval, the Consell of Eivissa now has a fully operative budget for 2026, aimed at ensuring the continuity of public services, the implementation of planned investments and the economic stability of the institution.
