The exhibition “Paysage Miró”, the most ambitious project ever devoted to Joan Miró, has come to a close with a total attendance of more than 340,000 visitors, firmly positioning Palma and the Illes Balears as a leading international cultural destination.
Staged over six months, the project brought together the artist’s work simultaneously across several iconic venues in the city for the first time, transforming Palma into a connected, living map of Miró’s creative universe. The exhibition “La força inicial”, hosted at the Llotja de Palma, was the final chapter of this exceptional artistic journey.

“Paysage Miró” exceeds 340,000 visitors and strengthens Palma’s international cultural standing
The initiative was made possible through an unprecedented institutional partnership involving the Government of the Balearic Islands, the Ajuntament de Palma, the Consell Insular de Mallorca, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Es Baluard Museu, and the Casal Solleric, with the collaboration of the Miró Estate and Galería Pelaires. This collective effort enabled an unparalleled public experience and positioned Palma at the forefront of Mediterranean cultural life.
The project achieved significant international media exposure, with an estimated global impact valued at €320 million. With the conclusion of “Paysage Miró”, the Balearic Islands reaffirm their commitment to cultural excellence, institutional collaboration and the global promotion of artistic heritage, leaving a lasting legacy that further strengthens the enduring connection between Miró and the islands.
