The Health Service has formally required the construction company responsible for the Santa Margalida Basic Health Unit to address several building defects identified in the facility, which has been operational for nearly one year. These issues have affected the proper functioning of the centre and have been reported repeatedly over the past months.
The detected problems include water leaks in the entrance hall and consultation rooms, dampness in the care and blood extraction area, malfunctions in the air-conditioning system and deficiencies in the proper closing of doors. These matters have been monitored by the relevant technical services since they were first identified.

Correction of construction defects requested at the Santa Margalida Basic Health Unit
Mallorca’s Primary Care Management has officially notified the construction company of these shortcomings, as responsibility for repairs lies with the contractor while the building remains under the warranty period. However, no corrective actions have been carried out by the company in recent months.
In order to assess the current condition of the facilities and to reiterate the need for remedial work, members of the project’s technical supervision team recently visited the Santa Margalida Basic Health Unit. Following the on-site inspection, the contractor has once again been requested to remedy the identified defects, with the aim of ensuring appropriate standards of safety, comfort and quality of care for both patients and healthcare professionals.
