The Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears continues its academic and artistic programme for the 2025-2026 academic year with the organisation of the II Symphonic Stage and the II Big Band Stage, two high-level training projects designed to strengthen musical excellence and professional development. Both initiatives will conclude with public concerts held at the institution’s auditorium.
The II Big Band Stage will take place on Friday, 6 February at 8:00 p.m., featuring a programme focused on contemporary jazz repertoire by internationally renowned composers. This project enables students to work in an environment that closely mirrors the professional dynamics of a big band, combining artistic rigour, ensemble practice and engagement with modern musical languages.

The Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears launches the II Symphonic Stage and II Big Band Stage for the 2025-2026 academic year
The II Symphonic Stage will culminate in a concert on Saturday, 7 February at 8:00 p.m. and represents a major milestone for the institution. For the first time, higher education students will share the stage with students from professional conservatories in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, establishing an unprecedented model of inter-island educational cooperation in the field of higher music education in the Balearic Islands.
The symphonic project adopts an advanced pedagogical approach, integrating orchestral performance with direct learning alongside leading figures in the musical field. The exceptional involvement of a living composer in the training process adds distinctive educational value, allowing students to explore interpretation from a creative and authorial perspective.
The participation of students from Menorca and Ibiza has been made possible through mobility support measures that remove geographical and economic barriers, ensuring equal access to high-level training opportunities and reinforcing territorial cohesion.
Admission to the concerts of both the II Symphonic Stage and the II Big Band Stage is free with prior reservation. These stages represent one of the most significant components of the academic curriculum, as they accurately reproduce the professional functioning of symphonic and jazz ensembles and serve as a direct bridge to the students’ future professional careers.
