Mallorca is moving towards a more integrated and efficient mobility model with the introduction of a new transport pass that will allow travel across the entire public transport network using a single medium. This initiative will enable seamless use of trains, metro services, interurban buses and Palma’s urban buses, simplifying travel and improving daily operations for users.
Applications for the new system will open on 1 October 2025. Users who already hold the current intermodal pass will not need to take any action, as it will remain fully valid and operational within the new framework. Those who only possess the Palma citizen transport pass will be able to apply for the new pass free of charge from the same date.

During a transitional period, the citizen pass will continue to be accepted on urban bus services, but it will cease to be valid as a transport ticket at the end of March 2026. From that point onwards, the new system will become the sole valid option across the island’s public transport network, while the citizen pass will remain active for other municipal services unrelated to transport.
Applications may be submitted either in person at designated offices across Mallorca or through online channels. In all cases, applicants will be required to provide valid identification and, where applicable, proof of residence on the island. To ensure efficient service, appointments will be mandatory, and each pass must be processed individually.
The new system will allow top-ups at railway stations, through online payment platforms and on interurban buses, while maintaining existing validation procedures depending on the mode of transport. Future developments include mobile phone integration during the first half of 2026 and the introduction of bank card payments on Palma’s urban buses at a later stage.
This initiative strengthens a more accessible, consistent and modern public transport model, reducing administrative barriers and making mobility across Mallorca easier for residents and visitors alike.
