The Directorate General for Vocational Training and Educational Planning has launched, for the first time, a funding scheme aimed at supporting short-term training stays for vocational education teachers in VET centres across Spain, to strengthen quality and innovation within the education system.

The initiative is implemented through the Centro de Formación, Innovación y Desarrollo de la Formación Profesional de las Illes Balears (CFINFP-IB) and is addressed to public VET centres in the Balearic Islands, offering level C, D and E vocational programmes during the 2025–2026 academic year.

The scheme will enable teachers to undertake short training visits lasting three or four days in vocational training centres, integrated VET centres, and national reference or excellence centres located in other autonomous regions of Spain. Depending on the number of VET teachers, each centre may submit between one and four proposals.

The main objectives of these stays are to update teachers’ technical, professional and methodological skills, strengthen long-term cooperation between institutions, and encourage the exchange of innovation and good teaching and organisational practices.

The call has a total budget of €50,000, allocated to covering travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for participating teachers. Applications may be submitted until 15 February 2026, and the training stays may take place between 8 March and 30 June 2026.

According to the Director General for Vocational Training and Educational Planning, Maria Isabel Salas, the initiative reaffirms the commitment to continuous improvement in vocational education and to the professional development of teachers, as a key factor in delivering high-quality, innovative VET closely connected to labour market needs.

This programme forms part of the Territorial Cooperation Plan for the Boost and Quality of Vocational Training and is funded by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, with co-financing from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
