Ibiza is launching a new Amateur Theatre Season aimed at supporting local performing arts and enhancing the visibility of amateur theatre groups across the island. The initiative provides companies with an organised framework to present their creative work and bring theatre closer to the general public.

The programme, coordinated by the Department of Culture with the support of local councils, features five performances scheduled between February and March 2026 at different cultural venues throughout the island. All performances will be free of charge until full capacity is reached.

The season opens on 13 February at the Sant Joan de Labritja Town Hall chamber with Jutjats de Pau. Judicis pendents, a Catalan-language production by the Associació de Vesins Es Molí, is suitable for all audiences. On 16 February, the Can Ventosa Auditorium will host Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, performed in Spanish by the Associació de Teatre Experimental de l’Escola d’Arts i Oficis d’Eivissa and recommended for adult audiences.

The programme continues on 28 February at Teatre Espanya with La Zapatera Prodigiosa, staged by Tot Teatre – L’Experimental, a family-friendly performance in Spanish. On 6 March, the Auditori Caló de s’Oli will present Los Clavero by the company Artes Pavón, recommended for audiences aged 14 and over. The season concludes on 20 March at the Auditori Parroquial of Sant Antoni de Portmany with Llinatge, performed in Catalan by Oasi Teatre, the theatre group of Sant Antoni, and aimed at audiences over 12 years old.

Through this initiative, the Consell Insular d’Eivissa strengthens its commitment to local culture, promoting free access to the performing arts, supporting amateur theatre groups and encouraging cultural participation throughout the island.
