An institutional delegation from Mallorca attended the official presentation of the literary commemorations promoted by the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, held at the headquarters of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which includes the Blai Bonet Year 2026.

The event was attended by the Island Director for Culture, Andrés Ferrer, together with the director of the Fundació Mallorca Literària, Carme Castells, who accompanied the presentation of the literary commemorations scheduled for the coming year.

Mallorca takes part in the presentation of the Blai Bonet Year at the Government of Catalonia

The Blai Bonet Year will pay tribute to one of the most influential voices in contemporary Catalan literature, highlighting the relevance of his creative legacy and his contribution to poetry, prose and cultural thought. The programme aims to promote the study, dissemination and public appreciation of his work throughout 2026.

The presentation in Catalonia follows a previous event held in Palma, where Mallorcan institutions officially introduced the commemoration, strengthening the visibility of the island’s literary heritage and its cultural ties with the wider Catalan-speaking cultural sphere.
