The Consell de Govern has formally endorsed the agreements reached at the Health Sector Negotiation Board in December, introducing a standardised island allowance for all civil servants and public-sector employees from 1 January 2026.
Under the new framework, the residence compensation will be the same for all professional groups, reinforcing pay equality and contributing to improved working conditions across the Balearic Islands’ public administration, particularly within the healthcare system.
For statutory staff of the Servicio de Salud de las Illes Balears, the allowance will match that received by civil servants of the Administración de la Comunidad Autónoma de las Illes Balears, regardless of professional category. Monthly amounts have been set at €205.30 in Mallorca, €410.60 in Menorca and Ibiza, and €615.90 in Formentera.

The Government has also confirmed the harmonisation of holidays, leave arrangements and work-life balance measures for statutory healthcare staff, taking into account the specific requirements of a system that operates continuously throughout the year.
In addition, a single scoring system for Catalan language proficiency has been approved. This unified scale will apply to all recruitment, placement and mobility procedures for statutory staff within the Balearic Islands’ public health service.
