The Consell de Mallorca has launched “Mans i ment,” a comprehensive sociocultural program designed to transform its centres into active community hubs operating throughout the year. The initiative delivers a structured calendar of workshops, meetings and cultural activities aimed at promoting creativity, well-being and social cohesion across the island.

For the first time, the program establishes a permanent venue in Palma at the Residència Sant Josep, expanding the existing network of sociocultural centres already operating in Inca and Manacor. This expansion enhances territorial coverage and ensures broader public access to a consistent and high-quality cultural offering.

The initiative addresses a growing demand for community-based activities that encourage participation and active ageing. While particular emphasis is placed on older adults, the program remains open and accessible to all segments of the population.

The annual schedule includes active physiotherapy workshops promoting healthy lifestyles, traditional dance sessions that encourage coordination and cultural preservation, creative workshops focused on mask-making and artisanal bookbinding, seasonal floral design sessions, activities dedicated to neules calades as part of Mallorca’s intangible cultural heritage, as well as discussion forums and public book presentations.

The Department of Presidency emphasises that “Mans i ment” represents not merely a calendar of events, but a strategic approach to sociocultural development. The initiative seeks to position these centres as vibrant, accessible spaces integrated into daily community life, fostering interaction, lifelong learning and civic coexistence.

The inclusion of Palma within the program marks a significant step in strengthening decentralized cultural participation across Mallorca, allowing a wider audience to benefit from a stable and structured network of sociocultural activities.

Activities take place at the sociocultural centers in Palma, Inca and Manacor. Registration is available via WhatsApp or telephone at +34 650 501 617 and +34 699 057 160, or by email at promociosociocultural@conselldemallorca.net.
