The Menorca Tourism Promotion Foundation has intensified its international marketing strategy by participating in FESPO Zurich, Switzerland’s leading tourism fair. This initiative aligns with the launch of new direct air routes linking the island with Zurich and Basel, reinforcing Menorca’s visibility in the Swiss outbound travel market.
The event, attended by more than 42,000 visitors, provided an opportunity to showcase Menorca’s tourism offering directly to consumers, highlighting the island’s positioning as a sustainable Mediterranean destination with strong cultural, natural, and gastronomic appeal. The timing of the fair, coinciding with the introduction of direct flights, has significantly boosted interest among Swiss travellers.

Menorca Strengthens Its Presence in Switzerland Following the Launch of Direct Flights
Edelweiss will operate the Zurich–Menorca route from March 29 until November 1, while EasyJet will connect Basel with the island from April 4 to October 31. Both airlines will maintain services for seven consecutive months, representing one of the strongest commitments in recent years to strengthening air connectivity between Menorca and Switzerland.
Participation in FESPO Zurich also facilitated professional networking, enabling tourism businesses from Menorca to establish direct contacts with Swiss travel operators and strengthen commercial partnerships.
Switzerland is considered a strategic market for Menorca, characterised by travelers with high purchasing power and a strong affinity for sustainability, environmental respect, and quality-driven experiences. The island’s designation as a Biosphere Reserve since 1993, together with its natural landscapes, heritage assets, and culinary excellence, generated notable interest among attendees.
Through this promotional effort, Menorca consolidates its positioning as a premium and responsible destination within the Balearic Islands, leveraging improved air connectivity to attract a discerning and environmentally conscious international audience.
