The health administration has defined the minimum service levels to be maintained during the nationwide strike called by medical and specialist healthcare staff belonging to group A1 of the National Health System. The industrial action will take place from 00:00 on Monday, February 16, until 23:59 on Friday, February 20, ensuring the continuity of essential healthcare services.

In healthcare facilities operating with multiple shifts, the strike will begin with the first shift on February 16. It will conclude once the final shift ends, even if it extends beyond the official end time on Friday.

Hospital care will follow the service levels applied on public holidays. Medical specialities with inpatients, as well as central services supporting hospitalised patients, will be reinforced with an additional specialist during the morning shift. Services without on-call duties will ensure that at least one physician is present in the morning.

Central hospital services will operate with 30% of their usual staff, increasing to 50% in radiophysics, haematology, and hemotherapy. All services classified as urgent or critical will operate at full capacity to guarantee scheduled activity and the continuity of essential treatments.

In primary care, health centres will ensure adequate medical and pediatric coverage during morning and afternoon shifts, with staffing levels adjusted according to the number of registered patients. Continuous care units and emergency services will remain fully operational throughout the strike period.

Due to the specific nature of their employment status, no minimum services have been established for resident medical staff.
