The Govern de les Illes Balears has launched a live-streaming system that allows the public to follow the osprey nest located in the Parque Natural de la Península de Llevant, strengthening conservation, scientific monitoring, and environmental awareness initiatives across the archipelago.

This initiative enables real-time observation of the breeding cycle of this protected species, including feeding patterns, nesting behaviour, and chick development. At the same time, the monitoring system supports the early identification of potential risks that could affect the species during this particularly sensitive period.

The project is based on high-quality remote camera technology with free public access through digital platforms, ensuring that wildlife observation is carried out with minimal disturbance to the animals and their natural habitat. The action forms part of broader public policies aimed at bringing biodiversity closer to society and promoting environmental responsibility.

The installation and operation of the system have been conducted under strict protection criteria, in line with regulations governing protected wildlife species, to safeguard the reproductive process and the natural life cycle of the osprey.

The Balearic Government emphasises the importance of public cooperation during the nesting season of birds of prey, encouraging respect for signage and designated routes within protected natural areas to help preserve the natural heritage of the Balearic Islands.
