The Health Service has resumed construction works on the new health centre and continuous care facility in Artà, a key project aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services in the municipality. The initiative involves an investment of €4.9 million and is funded through the Balearic Islands’ Insularity Factor as part of the Health Infrastructure Investment Plan 2024–2027.

The new healthcare facility will significantly expand current capacity, tripling the existing floor area to a total of 2,024 square metres. The building will include fifteen consultation rooms for family medicine, nursing and paediatrics, as well as multipurpose spaces designed to improve service organisation and efficiency.

The centre will be built on a single level on a site located at the entrance to the town, ensuring easy access for patients and emergency services. The project also предусматриes parking areas for users and staff, along with dedicated ambulance access, contributing to improved mobility and operational effectiveness.

Construction resumes following a complex administrative process that required restarting the procurement procedure after the initial project was halted. The new facility will serve the population assigned to the local basic health zone, enhancing healthcare capacity, continuity of care and home visit services.

This project is part of a broader strategy to modernise healthcare infrastructure, intending to reinforce primary care, increasing its problem-solving capacity and improving preventive and community-based healthcare services for residents.
