The regional government has unveiled the programme for the 2026 Day of the Balearic Islands, a celebration that will take place from 27 February to 2 March across Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera and that marks a historic milestone in terms of participation. Held under the slogan “A way of being”, this edition reinforces the event’s cultural identity and community-focused approach with a total of 301 activities.

Events are spread throughout the islands, with a strong presence in Mallorca and tailored programming in each territory, made possible through cooperation with local councils and island authorities. An increased number of municipal agreements has broadened the scope of the celebrations and strengthened a decentralised model that brings activities closer to residents.

The programme continues to focus on inclusive, participatory events, offering family-friendly, children’s, sports, cultural and gastronomic activities. Special emphasis is placed on promoting local produce, traditional crafts and cultural diversity. Key venues such as the Diada Market, the institutional exhibition area and local product spaces serve as open meeting points, with free participation for exhibitors.

Highlights include symphonic concerts, official ceremonies and the main celebration days during the weekend, featuring coordinated events throughout the archipelago. The cultural programme is enriched by exhibitions, live performances, craft workshops and artistic activities held in heritage settings.

Sport and healthy lifestyle promotion also play an important role, with a wide range of competitions, traditional sports and new initiatives designed to encourage physical activity. The successful delivery of the Diada is supported by the coordinated work of emergency services, security forces, volunteers and municipal staff, ensuring safety and smooth organisation throughout the celebrations.
