The Regional Government Condemns a Serious Case of Gender-Based Violence in Sant Antoni and Calls for Accountability on Victim Protection
At this stage, the regional administration is proceeding with the utmost caution, as not all official information required for a thorough assessment is yet available. IBDONA has formally requested full details of the case and has asked for a meeting with the Government Delegation to clarify the events and determine whether there were any shortcomings or failures in the implementation of existing protection measures, as alleged by the victim’s family.
In addition, the regional government has demanded explanations from the State authorities regarding potential failures in protection systems, recalling that previous requests for information on the functioning of certain protective mechanisms had not received a response.
The primary objective is to establish the facts with absolute rigor and, should any errors be identified, to ensure that the appropriate responsibilities are addressed. Above all, the regional government urges the State Administration to guarantee effective and reliable protection for all women who are victims of gender-based violence.
