From 25 April to 30 August 2026, Mallorca will host the first edition of PHOF – Mallorca PhotoFest, a new international festival dedicated to photography and contemporary image-making. Designed as a biennial event, the festival aims to position visual culture at the heart of the island’s artistic agenda and to strengthen its role within the contemporary cultural landscape.
The island institution plays a key role in this inaugural edition by organising the official opening event and hosting two of the festival’s main exhibitions at the La Misericòrdia Cultural Centre, one of Palma’s most prominent cultural venues. This involvement highlights a strong institutional commitment to contemporary creation and cultural development.
Institutional support has been essential in bringing PHOF – Mallorca PhotoFest to life. Financial contributions allocated to the festival’s development and to encouraging gallery participation are intended to reinforce the artistic sector, promote collaboration with the private cultural network and ensure a high-quality, wide-ranging programme.
