To mark the Illes Balears Day 2026, the Regional Ministry of Health is organising the ninth edition of the Route of Healthy Routes, a well-established initiative aimed at encouraging physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and overall physical and emotional well-being. This year’s edition involves more than twenty primary care health centres across all islands and, for the first time, includes Formentera, further strengthening the program’s regional scope.

In Mallorca, the main event will take place on Friday, 27 February at 10:00 a.m. in Palma, with two simultaneous starting points at Plaça de Sant Jeroni and Sa Feixina, converging at Plaça de la Murada. Participants from the ACTIVA’T municipal program and the Nordic Walking group of the Municipal Sports Institute will join the route, promoting inclusive and accessible physical exercise in an urban setting.

Menorca will host five healthy routes departing from the health centres of Canal Salat, Es Banyer, Verge del Toro, Dalt Sant Joan, and Ferreries. Formentera will participate for the first time through its health centre, also on 27 February, expanding the initiative’s territorial reach. In Ibiza, activities will take place on 6 March, with two routes starting from the Vila and Es Viver health centres and meeting at the Portal de Ses Taules.

Alongside these activities, the Directorate General for Mental Health will offer public engagement initiatives between 27 February and 2 March, including information stands, participatory actions, creative workshops, and awareness-raising activities focused on emotional well-being and risk prevention.

In addition, the Directorate General for Public Health will deliver educational and informative activities on healthy eating, infection prevention, vaccination, food safety, and screening programs, tailored to different population groups and life stages. Throughout the four-day celebration, citizens will also receive information on consumer rights and responsibilities, reinforcing a comprehensive approach to community health and well-being in the context of the Illes Balears Day.
