On the occasion of Illes Balears Day 2026, the Government of the Balearic Islands will deliver a wide-ranging programme of educational and participatory activities aimed at children and families as part of the Mostra GOIB, taking place from 27 February to 2 March at Parc de la Mar. The initiative seeks to bring European values closer to the public while fostering road safety awareness through engaging and educational experiences.
The Mostra GOIB stands as one of the key venues of the institutional celebration, hosting informative stands and interactive proposals promoted by various government departments and public bodies, to strengthen the relationship between citizens and public services.
A central feature of the programme will be the Europe Direct Illes Balears stand, coordinated through the Illes Balears Europe Foundation. Over the four-day event, the stand will offer participatory activities designed to introduce the European Union in an accessible and engaging manner. Specialised staff will guide educational games focused on identifying European countries, flags, and landmarks, as well as interactive activities based on the map of Europe.

The programme will also include a creative workshop for children, where participants will decorate stars inspired by European symbols, contributing to a collaborative mural displayed within the stand. In addition, a range of informational and promotional materials related to the European Union will be available to visitors.
In parallel, a special road safety awareness day will be held on Friday, featuring the participation of local police officers from several municipalities across the Balearic Islands. A dedicated area will host an exhibition of police vehicles, motorcycles, and equipment, allowing attendees to gain insight into the tools used in everyday public safety work.
The main attraction of this initiative will be a children’s traffic park, designed as a road safety education circuit with real signage. Children will be able to ride bicycles and learn basic traffic rules in a safe, supervised environment led by specialised officers. Additional resources will be provided by the Balearic Islands Public Safety Institute, alongside an awareness-raising workshop using alcohol and drug simulation goggles.
Through these initiatives, the regional government strengthens the educational and family-oriented nature of Illes Balears Day, promoting learning, participation, and social awareness, while reaffirming the Mostra GOIB as an open and inclusive celebration for all citizens.
