The Consell de Mallorca has launched the Mallorc@ Municipal mobile application across 16 municipalities on the island with fewer than 20,000 residents, as part of its strategy to strengthen communication between local authorities and citizens and to modernise municipal public services.
The new digital tool was officially presented during an institutional visit to Santa Maria del Camí by the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, and the Minister for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate. The application enables residents to easily access local information, report street incidents, follow municipal news and consult cultural agendas directly from their mobile devices.

Mallorca advances municipal digitalisation with the rollout of the Mallorc@ Municipal app in 16 local councils
Mallorc@ Municipal is designed as a two-way communication platform that provides participating municipalities with a virtual town hall available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its main features include the instant delivery of official announcements and alerts, real-time incident reporting with images and precise location, and citizen participation tools such as surveys, a digital noticeboard and an updated calendar of cultural and sporting events.
The deployment of the application is part of a broader programme aimed at the digital transformation of local administrations, supported by European funding, with a total investment of 1.8 million euros, including 50,640 euros allocated to the development of the mobile platform.
During the institutional visit, the island authorities also held a meeting with representatives of Agro-food Cooperatives of the Balearic Islands, highlighting the financial support provided for the promotion of local products and the modernisation of the cooperative sector. In addition, several completed infrastructure projects in Santa Maria del Camí were visited, and details were shared regarding the wide range of investments promoted in the municipality, covering areas such as infrastructure, mobility, energy, social services, culture and sport.
