Regarding the 2026 Ramon Llull Awards, the Government distinguished a broad group of individuals and entities representing different areas of Balearic society. Among the recipients were Miguel Bordoy, founder of Trablisa, honoured for a business career spanning more than five decades, and Banca March, recognised for its solidity, reliability and continued commitment to innovation while remaining rooted in its island origins.

The awards also recognised Margalida Jordà, creator of Project Naüm, to combat social exclusion, and Maria Teresa Llull, for transforming her personal struggle with cystic fibrosis into a collective cause through the Respiralia Foundation. The solidarity work of De Llevant en Marxa was likewise acknowledged, along with the efforts of the Associació d’Amics del Ferrocarril in preserving and promoting the region’s railway heritage.

The list of awardees also includes haematologist Estella Matutes Juan, an international reference in research on leukaemia and lymphomas; sea captain Juan Bautista Costa, for his commitment to maritime heritage; art gallerist and curator Joan Oliver (Maneu), for his contribution to contemporary culture; and Menorcan actress Laura Pons, for her career in the performing arts.

A posthumous Ramon Llull Award was granted to Professor of Economics Eugeni Aguiló, in recognition of his academic rigour and his contribution to tourism studies. The Associació de Criadors des Ca Eivissenc was also honoured for its work in preserving this native breed.

In the field of sport, the awards recognised cyclist Albert Torres, a five-time European champion and two-time world champion, and athlete Esperanza Cladera, Spanish champion in the 200 metres and world silver medallist in relay events. The centenary trajectory of the Federación Balear de Fútbol was also acknowledged for promoting the values of sport and teamwork over the past one hundred years.

Through this edition of the awards, the Balearic Government has highlighted careers and initiatives that embody the values of effort, perseverance, solidarity and commitment to the community, and that contribute to projecting the name of the Balearic Islands beyond the archipelago.
