Regional education leaders personally congratulate the students
The Balearic Islands have completed a landmark participation at SpainSkills 2026, securing a total of seven medals —two gold, two silver and three bronze— at Spain’s leading vocational education competition. The results underline the high standard of vocational training in the archipelago, following several days of competition at IFEMA Madrid, where 21 Balearic students competed across 20 different skill categories.
Gold medals were awarded to Àngela Font Ochogavía, from CIFP Juníper Serra, in the Cooking category, and to the team of Sebastià Seguí Ripoll and Sergi Ochogavía Vila, from CIFP Joan Taix, in Landscaping and Gardening. Thanks to these achievements, the gold medallists will represent Spain at the international WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 and EuroSkills Düsseldorf 2027 competitions, facing the world’s top young professionals.

The Balearic Islands make history at SpainSkills 2026 with two golds, two silvers and three bronzes
Silver medals went to Sergi Llull Roca, from CIFP Politècnic de Llevant, in Car Painting, and to Carla Schwarz Campos, from CIFP Juníper Serra, in Hotel Reception. Bronze medals were claimed by Natalia Martínez Fernández, from IES Pasqual Calbó i Caldés, in Floristry; Claudia Granados Bohigas, from CIFP Juníper Serra, in Restaurant and Bar Service; and Carlos Escobar Planas, from IES Politècnic, in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
The Minister for Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, and the Director General for Vocational Training and Educational Planning, Isabel Salas, attended the final phase of the competition and the medal ceremony. They personally congratulated the students and highlighted the historic nature of the results, which strengthen the Balearic Islands’ position as a national benchmark in vocational education.
With this performance, the Balearic delegation concludes SpainSkills 2026 with an outstanding record, showcasing the excellence, technical skills and educational quality of vocational training centres across the islands.
