Residents of Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera will be able to request the Unified Public Transport Card for Mallorca beginning Monday, March 9. This new travel card allows passengers to access several transport networks across Mallorca using a single integrated system.

The card enables travel on Mallorca’s train and metro services, as well as the interurban bus network operated by Transports de les Illes Balears and the urban bus system managed by EMT Palma. By combining these transport modes within one card, passengers no longer need separate tickets for different transport services across the island.

Applications can be submitted online through the electronic administration platform of the Govern de les Illes Balears. After completing the digital application, users may select their preferred card collection point from several available locations across Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera

In addition to the online option, in-person procedures will also be available. In Ibiza, citizens can request and collect the card at the citizen service offices of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa located on Avenida de Espanya. In Formentera, applications can be submitted at the citizen service offices of the Consell Insular de Formentera in Sant Francesc and Sant Ferran.

For Menorca, in-person applications will begin on Monday, March 16, by appointment at the service offices of the Consell Insular de Menorca in Maó and Ciutadella. Meanwhile, in Mallorca, the card can already be issued immediately at several designated points located in Palma and other municipalities.

Since the launch of the unified system at the beginning of October, approximately 92,000 cards have been issued. Authorities are currently implementing a transition period to fully introduce the unified transport system across the island’s public transport networks.

As part of this transition, the Tarjeta Ciudadana de Palma will stop functioning as a transport ticket on EMT buses from April 1, although it will remain active for other municipal services. Passengers who do not currently hold an intermodal card will be able to obtain the new unified card free of charge, while those already using the Intermodal Card will not need to request a new one, as it will remain valid within the integrated system.
