The international tourism fair ITB Berlin has served as the setting for a public demonstration of support from the German tourism industry for the strategy promoted by the Consell de Mallorca to advance a responsible and sustainable tourism model. During the event held at the Balearic Islands stand, representatives from leading companies and organisations within the German travel market expressed their commitment by signing the Mallorca Pledge, an initiative that promotes tourism based on sustainability, coexistence and respect for the territory.
Germany remains the leading source market for visitors travelling to Mallorca and maintains a long-standing relationship with the island. Over the years, this connection has made the German market one of the most important partners for Mallorca’s tourism industry, providing both visitor volume and market stability.

The German tourism sector supports the tourism strategy of the Consell de Mallorca at the ITB Berlin
The institutional event was attended by the president of the Consell de Mallorca and the tourism representative, who emphasised the importance of cooperation between public institutions, tourism companies and visitors in order to develop a balanced and responsible tourism model. Mallorca’s tourism strategy focuses on improving destination quality, promoting environmental sustainability and strengthening coexistence between residents and tourists.
Key participants in the signing included major German tourism stakeholders such as TUI, Alltours, DERTOUR Group, ASI Reisen and the German Travel Association (DRV). The presence of these companies and organisations highlights the interest of the German tourism sector in supporting a sustainable and forward-looking tourism strategy for Mallorca.
