The Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Illes Balears (CSMIB) will host a new series of activities from the Excellentia program between March 10 and March 17, 2026. This initiative aims to bring internationally renowned performers to the conservatory, offering students and the wider public direct contact with leading figures in the world of classical music. During this edition, the institution will welcome flautist Andrea Oliva and clarinettist Sabine Anette Meyer-Wehle.
The program will begin on March 10 and 11 with masterclasses led by Andrea Oliva, principal flute of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and an internationally recognised soloist. His sessions will focus on flute performance, technical refinement and interpretative development, providing an opportunity for students and music enthusiasts to engage with advanced approaches to the instrument.

Andrea Oliva and Sabine Meyer-Wehle visit the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Illes Balears as part of the Excellentia program
From March 15 to 17, the conservatory will host Sabine Meyer-Wehle, one of the most distinguished clarinettists on the international stage and a former soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic. Her masterclasses will address solo clarinet repertoire as well as chamber music, creating an intensive learning environment for participants interested in deepening their musical interpretation and ensemble practice.
Through the Excellentia program, the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Illes Balears strengthens its commitment to high-level artistic education and international collaboration. The participation of leading performers provides valuable educational experiences and reinforces the institution’s role as a key centre for advanced music training.
