Binissalem is preparing one of the most attractive plans for the weekend of March 14 and 15, 2026, with the celebration of the Fira del Comerç Local (Local Commerce Fair), an event aimed at promoting the town’s businesses and bringing together residents, visitors, and local associations.

However, due to rain forecasts, the Ajuntament de Binissalem (Binissalem Town Council) has announced changes to some locations and traffic circulation in order to ensure that the activities scheduled for the weekend can take place smoothly.

The fair will continue as planned, but with logistical adjustments designed to facilitate public participation and maintain safety.

The Binissalem Local Commerce Fair Will Maintain Its Program

The Fira del Comerç Local in Binissalem will bring together local shops, businesses, associations, and organisations for two days, with the aim of promoting local commerce and highlighting the town’s economic activity.

The event, organised by the Ajuntament de Binissalem, offers a weekend full of activities for all audiences, including batucada performances, shows, workshops, dancing, zumba sessions, and children’s entertainment.

The slogan featured on the event poster, “Oberts al Comerç Local / Offen für den lokalen Handel” (Open to Local Commerce), reflects the main objective of the fair: encouraging residents and visitors to support local businesses.

Changes Due to Rain: New Location for the Fair

Because of the weather forecast, the town council has announced that the Fira del Comerç Local will be moved to the covered courtyard of the Escola Graduada.

This change will allow the activities and stalls to take place under cover, preventing the rain from affecting the event and ensuring that residents and visitors can enjoy the fair comfortably.

In addition, the municipality has also communicated changes related to the weekly market and traffic circulation during these days.

Friday Market Relocated to Plaça de l’Església

Another measure announced is the relocation of the Friday market on March 13, which will now take place in Plaça de l’Església (Church Square).

This adjustment is part of the logistical changes organised by the town council to facilitate the events taking place over the weekend.

Street Closures During the Fair

Due to the organisation of the fair and the planned activities, several streets in Binissalem will be closed to traffic.

According to the information provided by the Ajuntament de Binissalem, the affected areas will include:

  • Carrer Sa Mostra
  • Carrer Concepció
  • Plaça de l’Església
  • Cuplé area

These traffic restrictions are intended to ensure safety during the event and allow the setup of activities scheduled throughout the weekend.

Traffic Changes Until Sunday Afternoon

In addition to street closures, the town council has also announced temporary changes to traffic circulation to facilitate movement out of the town during the fair.

Specifically, the section of Carrer Escola Graduada, between Carrer Sa Mostra and Carrer Catedràtic Llabrés, will operate with two-way traffic.

This measure will remain in place until Sunday afternoon, helping improve mobility during the event.

The town council has thanked residents for their cooperation and apologised for any inconvenience these temporary measures may cause.

Program of the Local Commerce Fair

Despite the logistical changes due to rain, the scheduled program of the fair remains unchanged.

With the adjustments announced due to rain, the event will continue in the covered courtyard of the Escola Graduada, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the fair throughout the weekend.

Residents and visitors alike will therefore have a full weekend plan for March 14 and 15, combining local commerce, entertainment, and a festive atmosphere in the heart of Binissalem.
