Interest in travelling to Ibiza continues to grow during the first months of 2026. Tourism monitoring data indicate that flight searches to Ibiza have increased by 4% since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East at the end of February, reinforcing the island’s reputation as a stable, safe and highly demanded destination within the international tourism market.
Between 28 February and 9 March, the number of searches for flights to Ibiza reached 4,602,334, compared with 4,106,886 searches recorded during the same period in 2025. This represents a year-on-year increase of 10.77%, equivalent to more than 405,000 additional searches. However, the broader analysis shows that the island was already experiencing an upward trend earlier in the year, with an accumulated growth of 6.5% in searches from 1 January 2026. As a result, the specific increase associated with the beginning of the conflict is estimated at approximately 4%.

Market analysis also reveals notable changes in the countries showing interest in flights to Ibiza. The United States leads the increase, with a 31.21% rise in searches, growing from 167,666 to 243,746. This is followed by Belgium, with an increase of 29.22%, the Netherlands, with 23.23%, and Italy, with a 22.55% growth in searches for flights to the island.
In contrast, several source markets have shown a decline in interest since late February. Switzerland records the most significant drop, with a 47.60% decrease, falling from 107,988 searches in 2025 to 73,161 in 2026. Other decreases have been recorded in France, with an 8.16% reduction, Ireland, with 6.09% fewer searches, and Germany, where demand has fallen by 1.56%.
Despite these fluctuations in demand, no increase has been detected in airline ticket prices or hotel stays so far, suggesting that the rise in searches remains within normal tourism market dynamics.
The data confirm that Ibiza continues to maintain strong international tourism demand, with search volumes remaining above those recorded in 2025 since the beginning of the year. This trend demonstrates that the island’s attractiveness as a travel destination is largely driven by its own tourism appeal rather than external geopolitical factors.
In the current geopolitical context, travellers from major tourism markets such as Europe and North America are reconsidering travel plans involving destinations in the Middle East or routes that pass through the region. Within this scenario, Ibiza is increasingly positioned as a reliable and appealing alternative, attracting visitors seeking safe and stable Mediterranean destinations.
