The Department of Families, Social Welfare and Dependency Care has announced a new grant program aimed at federations, confederations, and umbrella organisations operating at a supra-island level that implement social programs. With a total budget of €1.32 million, this funding is intended to cover the operational costs of eligible non-profit entities for the years 2026 and 2027.

The initiative seeks to enhance social participation and strengthen the associative network by supporting organisations that provide essential services to vulnerable groups. It reinforces the role of the third sector in delivering social assistance and promoting community cohesion.

Beneficiary entities are required to focus their activities on supporting individuals with physical, mental, or sensory disabilities, people with severe mental health conditions, elderly individuals in situations of dependency, and those facing poverty or social exclusion. This targeted approach ensures that resources are directed toward populations with the greatest need for support.

Through this funding scheme, institutional efforts are directed toward maintaining sustainable social programs, fostering inclusive policies, and reinforcing a coordinated support structure across the region.
