A new compact combi vehicle has been approved for the day care centers of Calàbria and Platja Gran, aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities associated with severe mental health conditions. This initiative addresses the need to enhance mobility resources and improve access to external activities that are essential for comprehensive care.

The new vehicle will facilitate cultural outings, leisure activities, and community engagement programs, which are fundamental components of therapeutic and social intervention. These activities contribute to personal development, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and promote both emotional and physical well-being, while also supporting social inclusion.

Acquisition of a new compact combi vehicle for the Mental Health Day Care Centre, Menorca

Previously, transportation needs were partially covered through limited external service contracts and an outdated adapted vehicle with reduced capacity and frequent mechanical issues. This situation restricted operational efficiency and limited the centre’s ability to plan and execute regular activities.

The selected model is a nine-seat vehicle designed to meet both operational and accessibility requirements. Its compact structure allows access to facilities with height restrictions, such as sports centres and urban parking areas, thereby improving connectivity with community spaces.

The total investment amounts to €46,800.38, including taxes, representing a significant improvement in service quality. This acquisition ensures safer, more comfortable, and more reliable transportation, aligned with the objectives of delivering comprehensive and high-quality mental health support.

This measure reinforces the institutional commitment to enhancing social services, promoting autonomy, inclusion, and overall quality of life for individuals receiving care.
