The Government of the Balearic Islands has held a new institutional meeting with representatives from the trade, industry, and distribution sectors to assess the economic impact of the armed conflict in the Middle East. This meeting forms part of a broader strategy led by the regional administration to evaluate the situation comprehensively and develop coordinated responses in an increasingly complex global context.

This session represents the fourth round of discussions with key social stakeholders and economic sectors across the islands, following previous meetings with business organizations and trade unions, the transport sector, and agricultural associations. The initiative aims to gather direct insights from economic actors in order to identify risks, anticipate potential scenarios, and design effective measures to safeguard the regional economy.

The meeting brought together senior government officials responsible for economic, business, and industrial policy, along with representatives from major business associations linked to commerce, food distribution, manufacturing, and related sectors. The discussions focused on assessing potential impacts on costs, supply chains, and overall economic activity, as well as exploring coordinated response strategies.

The Government has confirmed that the round of meetings will continue on Thursday, extending dialogue to additional administrations and productive sectors. The goal is to develop a comprehensive package of measures aligned with the Spanish Government and the European Union, and agreed upon with the social and economic stakeholders of the Balearic Islands.

This coordinated approach aims to strengthen the resilience of the Balearic economic fabric, ensuring an effective and unified response to the challenges posed by the international conflict while protecting business activity and employment.
