Prohens highlights collaboration between the Balearic Islands and the Dominican Republic through a training and knowledge exchange agreement

The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, has emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation between the Balearic Islands and the Dominican Republic through a strategic agreement focused on knowledge exchange and the enhancement of tourism education. This initiative is part of a joint effort to promote professional excellence, talent development, and innovation within one of the most significant economic sectors for both regions.

During her visit to the National Institute for Technical and Vocational Training (INFOTEP), a key partner in this agreement, the President underlined the value of this alliance in strengthening historical ties and fostering effective collaboration in education and tourism. The agreement, signed במסגרת the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (Fitur), establishes a framework for cooperation between INFOTEP and the Balearic Islands School of Hospitality (EHIB).

The collaboration is already yielding results, with a delegation of six Dominican instructors currently undertaking a training stay in the Balearic Islands. This program focuses on the exchange of methodologies, specialization in tourism education, and the development of professional skills aligned with current industry demands.

In addition, the initiative includes complementary actions such as scholarship programs, training placements in tourism-related companies, and new opportunities aimed at attracting and developing talent within the hospitality sector. This comprehensive approach contributes to improving service quality and sustaining international competitiveness.

This partnership represents a model of international cooperation centered on continuous improvement in education and the transfer of applied knowledge in tourism, supporting long-term growth and sustainability in the sector.
