The 5th Balearic Conference on Best Practice Spotlight Organizations in Nursing Care is inaugurated

The Balearic Islands Health Service currently involves 1,275 professionals in the implementation of ten best practice guidelines in nursing, במסגרת the Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) program. These guidelines address key areas such as vascular access, breastfeeding, fall prevention, pain management, palliative care, person- and family-centered care, as well as the prevention of complications in diabetic patients and individuals at risk of suicidal behavior.

The adoption of these guidelines has required targeted training for healthcare professionals in strategic planning, change management, needs assessment, and evaluation processes. This approach has enabled effective improvements in both clinical practice and organizational systems within healthcare institutions.

Most healthcare institutions across the Balearic Islands are currently engaged in this international program, with six health service management areas accredited as centers committed to excellence in care. Since joining the initiative in 2018, the program has expanded progressively, incorporating hospitals and primary care services while continuing its implementation in additional areas.

This initiative reinforces the commitment of the Balearic healthcare system to high-quality care, promoting evidence-based practices and contributing to improved health outcomes for the population.
