The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, has highlighted the project developed by Grupo Piñero in Cayo Levantado as an international benchmark in sustainable tourism and circular economy. During her institutional visit, she emphasized the innovative nature of this initiative, which is advancing towards a zero-waste objective through comprehensive resource management solutions.
Accompanied by business representatives, the president explored a model that integrates energy efficiency, resource optimization, and advanced sustainability strategies. The project incorporates pioneering technologies focused on waste management, including systems that convert waste into energy, as well as innovative solutions for producing potable water from atmospheric humidity and promoting energy self-consumption.
