The Balearic Youth Institute (IBJOVE) and the Official College of Dietitians-Nutritionists of the Balearic Islands (CODNIB) have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting healthy eating habits among young people and strengthening the prevention of nutrition-related risk behaviors.
This partnership establishes a coordinated strategy focused on delivering evidence-based information and educational content tailored to youth audiences, as well as professionals working in youth environments. The initiative includes awareness campaigns, training programs, and the development of informative materials designed to encourage balanced and sustainable dietary practices.

One of the key components of the agreement is the provision of expert nutritional guidance for the menus at the La Victòria camp in Alcúdia. This will involve the supervision and validation of meal plans, alongside targeted training for kitchen staff to ensure high standards of nutritional quality.
The agreement is driven by growing concerns regarding dietary patterns among young people in the Balearic Islands, including the frequent consumption of sugary products, ultra-processed foods, energy drinks, and alcohol. These trends highlight the need for more effective prevention policies and educational initiatives in the field of nutrition.
In response, both institutions will implement actions aimed at raising awareness of unhealthy eating habits, challenging common misconceptions about nutrition, and promoting a positive and balanced relationship with food and body image.
Through this collaboration, the institutions reinforce their commitment to improving youth health and well-being, positioning nutritional education as a fundamental pillar for fostering healthier lifestyles and long-term quality of life.
