The town of Sineu has officially unveiled its Holy Week 2026 program, a comprehensive cultural and religious initiative that highlights tradition, heritage, and musical expression. Supported by the Consell de Mallorca, the program strengthens its institutional relevance and positions Sineu as a key destination within the island’s cultural calendar.
The schedule brings together a series of religious ceremonies and cultural events designed to showcase the historical identity of the municipality. A major highlight of this year’s edition is the inclusion of the Joc de Ministrils, a historic ensemble restored to its original formation, which will take part in the Good Friday procession, enhancing both its ceremonial depth and cultural significance.

The program will begin on March 27 with the official opening speech and a concert performed by the Filarmónica Porrerenca, which celebrates its 170th anniversary and maintains a long-standing connection with the event. The evening will also feature the screening of a historical documentary, offering a retrospective view of Sineu’s Holy Week traditions.
On March 28, the String Quartet of the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra will perform a renowned sacred composition, contributing to the artistic and cultural dimension of the program.
The central event will be the Good Friday Procession, one of the most significant and widely attended celebrations in Sineu. The procession will include multiple music bands and brotherhoods, creating an atmosphere of solemnity and devotion. The participation of the Joc de Ministrils further reinforces the historical and cultural value of this emblematic event.
The program also incorporates emotionally significant moments, including a musical tribute dedicated to the Virgin of Solitude in the main square, adding symbolic and artistic depth to the celebration.
Organizers encourage both residents and visitors to actively participate in the events, promoting the preservation of traditions and respect for cultural heritage. In addition, the local gastronomy associated with Good Friday plays an important role, offering a complete cultural experience that combines devotion, identity, and tradition.
