A total of 125 vocational education students are participating in the second edition of the Innova FP Hackathon, an initiative that brings together learners from different training centers across the Balearic Islands in an intensive experience focused on innovation and real-world problem solving. The event takes place over two days in Platges de Muro, strengthening its role as a practical and dynamic educational initiative.
Participants come from 27 vocational training centers located in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, representing a wide range of professional fields. Organized into teams and supported by teacher mentors, students engage in a collaborative learning environment that encourages the application of knowledge to real-life challenges.

The hackathon format allows students to tackle challenges proposed by companies from the regional business ecosystem, promoting the development of key skills such as creativity, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. This challenge-based approach enhances the connection between academic training and labor market demands.
Participating organizations have introduced challenges related to strategic sectors, encouraging the creation of innovative and practical solutions. Each challenge includes a financial award recognizing the most outstanding proposals based on their feasibility and level of innovation.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen vocational education as a key pathway for skills development and employability, promoting active learning methodologies and immersive experiences that place students at the center of the educational process.
The project is co-funded by European and national programs and supported by collaborating entities, reinforcing its strategic importance within the education system and its contribution to preparing students for evolving professional environments.
