The Council of Government has approved a maximum allocation of €1.75 million to support leisure and educational activities for children and young people during the 2026 school holiday periods. This initiative, part of the Corresponsables Plan, covers Easter and summer holidays in 2026, as well as the Christmas period of 2026–2027, and is designed to support work-life balance for families.

The funding program targets participants aged 3 to 16 and also includes resources for hiring additional staff to assist individuals with disabilities or functional diversity up to the age of 21. Grants will be paid in advance at 100% of the approved amount, with no requirement for prior guarantees, facilitating access for participating organizations.

The scheme is divided into two main funding lines. A total of €1.5 million is allocated to local authorities, covering up to 75% of project costs. The remaining €250,000 is reserved for parent associations, third-sector organizations, and non-profit entities, with funding that may cover up to 100% of eligible expenses.

These measures highlight the importance of structured leisure and educational activities as a key resource for families during school breaks. At the same time, they contribute to job creation in the care and youth services sector, promoting high-quality support systems that enhance social well-being and equal opportunities.
